Dear Tracker ~
I’ve been diving more and more into a longtime curiosity of my research - environment and conditions that help us flourish.
What if “becoming” more creative at work had less to do with your cognition and less to do with what department or industry you work in - and more to do with workplace conditions - whether you work for an organization, for a college, or for your best self?
What are good stressors at work versus bad ones?
How can we set up conditions that foster creativity at work - whether on a team or solo?
These are questions I’m living and wondering about today.
In this premium Shot of Wonder, I break down
the difference between bad workplace stressors and good workplace stressors
three general conditions shown in research from the past 10 years (and from our applied research at Tracking Wonder) that boost people’s creative intelligence at work
and how Mary Oliver gives us a prompt for application (because, why not bring in Mary Oliver?)
I also give you a printable worksheet to help you apply this Shot of Wonder + a few behind-the-scenes photos of shifts in my Tracking Wonder studio (work side) as I’m noting how to shift conditions for myself and Team TW.
The outdoor environment is shifting here in the Hudson Valley of New York. From green to yellow to gold to brown to ground, the leaves mark the change of seasonal guard. The drone of bullfrogs gives way to late summer breezes. This video aims to capture some of that, too.
Psst…The first Shot of Wonder was free (as/ always will be theWonder Dispatch). If you’d like more Shots of Wonder—and a say in shaping what comes next—consider upping your wonder ratio. You’ll gain access to the full Shot of Wonder Library, our Tracking Wonder Handbook, worksheets, and more.
More good things ahead. Thanks for being here.
