Welcome.

A V-line of thirty-two calling geese startles you to pause and look up. Jon Batiste blues up Beethoven’s Fur Elise. An Annie Dillard sentence, teetering on the next moment like an American goldfinch perched on a thin limb, twists your head. A flash of insight appears seemingly out of the morning mist like a doe come to feed and just as quickly vanishes.

So what? So, everything.

In a world where cynicism can spread like a virus, wonder turns out to be your singular advantage to pursue impactful work and a meaningful life over the long run.

That’s what my body of work - and experimental life - have borne out. I’ve been on wonder’s trail publicly since 2010.

I’m glad you’re here to track wonder with me and an astonishing community.

About You & The HUB

Whether you’re here for tips, connection, or just to explore what wonder can do for your impactful work and life, you’re in the right place. The Wonder HUB runs parallel to what we do at Tracking Wonder Consultancy.

If you’re like members of our international community (about 40 countries represented at last count), you might be here because one of these rings true:

  • You seek to gain habits that help you live and work with more purpose, possibility, creative intelligence, and meaning.

  • You desire to be around open-minded and curious people who “get” the nature of your work and life aspirations.

  • You want to leverage your ideas - despite doubts and distractions.

  • You need to lead your team and your life with more spacious pacing and curiosity.

  • You wonder how to partner with the natural world as part of your everyday innovation.

  • A lot of what you read in other places does not offer both the thoughtfulness and actionable insights you crave.

  • You seek authoritative guidance that respects you and your aims.

Again, welcome!

What qualifies me to be your guide?

“Don’t listen to what I say. Try it out for yourself.” That’s what every guide, teacher, or strategist I’ve worked with and trusted has said to me. And it’s what I say to you.

I don’t need or want to impress you (not my thing). but if you’re new to me, here are a few things to know:

  • I’ve been on the trail of wonder for over 20 years and authored Tracking Wonder: Reclaiming a Life of Meaning and Possibility in a World Obsessed with Productivity (Sounds True) - (okay - I’ve been unknowingly on wonder’s trail since I was a tow-headed, tree-climbing boy).

  • I work as a researcher, author, creativity and business strategist, team culture consultant, and speaker. I’ve had the privilege of helping thousands of change-makers unlock their best ideas through curiosity, innovation, and wonder.

  • My work has helped business owners, leaders, and entrepreneurs:

    • Restructure their business models and lives for greater joy, impact, and return—both financially and emotionally.

    • Shape captivating brand stories that attract exponential growth opportunities.

    • Navigate career transitions to align with their deepest aspirations.

    • Inspire their teams to collaborate with more openness, curiosity, and creative intelligence.

    • Publish books with six-figure deals, including some New York Times bestsellers, and through other paths to publish.

  • Over 16,000 (and growing) individuals from around the globe have deepened their focus and flow at work through my programs, even during challenging times.

  • I write for Psychology Today (since 2012) and numerous other outlets.

  • I’m honored that this body of work has been featured in numerous outlets.

I’ve also pursued wonder in unconventional ways: studying rock art caves, tracing Georgia O’Keeffe’s footsteps in North Texas, training in South India and the Himalayas, and interviewing or studying over 500 innovators across industries. Each step has deepened my understanding of how people flourish amidst challenges and change. When hardly anyone in 2010 was notably on wonder’s trail, here was my hypothesis published at Psychology Today:

  • Part one: To cultivate wonder can benefit how we adults relate. To our minds and our bodies. Our sense of self and Self. Our loved ones. Strangers. Other animals. Plants. Work. Problems and crises.

  • Part two: Wonder may be the responsible - not childish, Alice-ish - emotional experience for us adults in the 21st century to learn to identify and cultivate.

That second part seems more vital than ever.

And, honestly, the most important work of my life: I’m also a proud papa raising two amazing daughters with my wife Hillary in our Hudson Valley farmhouse. Like everyone, I face moments of stress and overwhelm. That’s why tracking wonder isn’t just an idea for me—it’s a daily practice. I’ll keep things real here.

Why Wonder?

Re-engaging with our innate capacity for wonder is the key to advancing complex endeavors sustainably while fostering richer relationships, more creative work, and a meaningful life.

Wonder isn’t about escaping reality; wonder disrupts our biases so we can see again what is real and true, beautiful and possible.

We can create lives that feel more aligned with our deepest values. And we can inspire others to do the same.

In a world where cynicism spreads like a virus, wonder is our antidote.

Let’s track it together.

Thank you for being here.

And thanks for running with me,

Jeffrey
