Dear Change-Maker ~
I think many thoughtful people right now are experiencing what I would call the Belonging Gap.
We live in a time of constant contact, constant updates, and constant digital interaction. And still, many people rarely experience real belonging.
Belonging, as I frame it, is the experience of participating meaningfully with other people around something that matters.
This Shot of Wonder might especially resonate if:
you spend much of your day connected to people yet still feel relationally undernourished
you miss thoughtful conversation that goes beyond information exchange or performance
you long for spaces where curiosity, contribution, and evolving ideas are genuinely welcomed
you feel weary of transactional networking or constantly managing impressions
you sense that meaningful belonging might actually shape creativity, resilience, leadership, and fulfillment more than we realize
In this Shot of Wonder, I explore the idea of the Belonging Gap.
I also offer one small but practical invitation you can test this week.
I want to get your take and reflections below in response to Your Turn to Wonder.
If you’re not yet a Premium member, now might be a meaningful time to consider upping your wonder ratio. You gain access to the full Library of Shots of Wonder, our Tracking Wonder Handbook, worksheets, our beta Tracking Wonder Endeavor Canvas, discounts on future Wonder Labs and cohorts, and more.
And timely note: our upcoming Wonder Lab will focus directly on building meaningful community, participation, and connection in an age of fragmentation and distraction. I think this may become one of the most important conversations we host this year.
If this body of work has supported your thinking, creativity, leadership, or life in some meaningful way, your premium subscription is one important way to support its continuation.
Regardless, I appreciate that you continue showing up for the work that matters in this one beautiful life.
More good things ahead. Thanks for being here.
